Product Review – Smooch Liquid Eyeliner

I’ve got an absolute obsession with dark eye make up and once I switched to using liquid eyeliner, I have never looked back! I was introduced to the brand Smooch Cosmetics last year. They have two kinds of eye liner, liquid and pencil. The black liquid eye liner is, without a doubt, a miracle product.

The packaging…

Smooch Liquid Eye Liner comes in a gorgeous laced box with Smooch Liquid Eye Liner written on the front. The bottle itself is a teardrop shape with a long applicator. The bottle features matt black with a small logo to never forget the product (not that you could!)

The application…

This eyeliner has a simple felt nip, about 1cm long. It gives off a perfect amount of product and draws on as easily as a felt tip pen to a piece of paper. It’s really easy to control and creates lovely graphic styles!

The wearing…

This is where Smooch Liquid Eye Liner comes into its own! It does not brand itself as waterproof, however, I have worn it swimming and come out looking exactly the same- no awful panda eyes! I mean, I wasn’t rubbing my eyes, but it won’t budge with a few splashes of water! It gives an amazing deep black colour and works perfectly on it’s own or combined with a shadow!

London Fashion Week: Kristian Aadnevik

Sunday 17th February 2013

Coming from a Fashion background, LFW excites me every season. Now working within the beauty industry, I look at fashion week from a completely different side. This season, one of my beauty clients, Smooch Cosmetics, teamed up with Elias Hove and designer Kristian Aadnevik.

We sponsored the make up for the show and my gosh, Elias did us proud! The 15 models looked completely beauty with a soft take on a smokey eye. They wore Smooch Liquid Eyeliner with Filthy Rich eye shadow. They had lush contoured cheekbones featuring Smooch Bronzed Bronzer.

The clothes were on another level. I had high expectations as I’ve loved his previous collections but this show exceeded my hopes! Featuring a dark, almost gothic colour scheme with rich looking velvet, leather, lace and sheer chiffon. Easily one of the most wearable collections I’ve ever seen.

Perfect Smokey Eye

A smokey eye is my failsafe night out make up. I love the combination of my blonde hair with a dark eye. I’ve put together a step-by-step guide to how I create my smokey eye and what products I use!

Step One: Prime

I start off with W7 Primer in camera ready, I always find this helps my eye make up to stay on for longer and look better.

Step Two: Define

I then used Smooch Liquid Eyeliner to draw a thick line across my upper lash line. I used Smooch Pencil Eyeliner to draw along my lower eyelid and to smudge the edges.

Step Three: Blend

Smooch Nocturnal Duo Eyeshadow was then used to emphasise my lids. Starting with the black at the outer corners and smudging a little white in the inner corner of both eyes.

Step Four: Finish

I finished off my eye with a mixture of two mascaras, Revlon Grow Luscious and Smooch Black Lash. The combination of the two made my lashes longer and darker.

Lovable Top Five…

Beauty Trends for SS13!

I am a big lover of these cold icy days, wearing snuggly jumpers and thick knitted tights, however my true love is the opening of flowers in Spring! So obviously, I am going to be seriously excited to wear all the beauty trends for next season. I thought I’d list the ones I’m going to be embracing next Spring!

1. Popping Lips

I love making a statement with my lips, especially one that clashes with whats expected. I’ll be wearing Smooch Tangerine Dream on my pout next year!

2. Attention Eyes

I love a dramatic eye, i’ll be glitzing up my normal black lined lids with a hint of sparkle and shimmer. I love Smooch Cosmetics Nocturnal Eyeshadow! Perfect for creating a truly show stopping eye.

3. Nearly Nude

I can see this will be a trend I embrace nearly every day due to its extreme simplicity. I’ll simply use my primer, foundation and a touch of powder to create neutral flawless skin.

4. Lashes, lashes, lashes

I am in love with this trend, I will be wearing extra long lashes with layers of my favourite Revlon Mascara to enhance my eyes to the lash limit!

5. Matte Lips

I love wearing lipstick, it always instantly updates my look. I will be wearing a whole range of pinks next year, especially W7 Magic Matte Lip in In The Pink!

What are you looking forward to?

Everyday Make Up

I’m new to the beauty blogging scene but I thought I’d post a blog about how I love to wear my make up and the products I love and use everyday!

Face

I begin by using W7 Anti-Redness Primer, it’s gorgeous and makes my face so soft! I then use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation. I don’t use it all over my face as it’s such a close colour match, I can just use it in the problem areas. Depending on my mood I either brush my face with a shimmering Bronzer, I’m currently using W7 Bronzer Shimmer or I contour my cheeks with a pinky blusher. In the photo below I am wearing Smooch Peachy Blusher.

Eyes

I use Smooch Liquid Eyeliner to draw a nice line along my lashline, this greats a graphic style and is a fail-safe option for my eyes. I love how the finish of the eyeliner has a wet look and when applying, it feels like drawing with a felt tip pen. I tend to finish off my eyes with Smooch Gold Rush Duo Eye Shadow, I use the lighter shade on my browbones just to add a little shimmer to my look. Finally, I use Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. I used to really struggle to find a perfect mascara until I tried this one. Since using it, my lashes are longer and more dramatic. I often get asked what false lashes I am wearing!

Lips

I’d love to wear lipstick every single day as I love how it makes me feel. However, I always end up taking it off mid morning after staining my coffee cup! In this photo I am wearing Smooch Deadly Nightshade. This strong, long lasting colour is really moisturising and the range of colours are amazing!

I am wearing Denim Shirt from a charity shop, Knitted Jumper from Tesco, Earrings from Lisbeth Dahl.
